you have a knot in the ties that bind. you are in a relationship, with what would appear to be a good man, and your very close friend tell you he loves you. the pull of divided loyalties is hard isn’t it. i’m almost certain you share at least some of your friends feelings or you would be asking how to tell him no. so heres the thing. your bf loves you. your friend loves you to. but who do YOU love more? in the end, you know you cant be with them both. maybe you should sit back and watch them both for a time. really get to see them in these new lights they’ve presented themselves in. then make a list- who they are, what they like, dislike, and more importantly, how they feel about you. ask them questions about what would happen in tough situations. pick some hard questions and ask them. you may yet learn much more than you ever realized about them. then pick the man that, after all is said and done, will try the hardest to make you happy

whose nick name was GOHST in 1980’s?

The answer to this is Jim Jess of Richmond, Here are his details:

An ebullient, larger than life character who played football with verve, persistence and no small amount of ‘devil’, Jim Jess was a firm favourite among Richmond fans throughout a 223 game VFL career that ran from 1976 to 1988. Known as ‘The Ghost’, he excelled in both defensive and attacking key positions, often during the course of the same game. Probably his best and certainly his most eventful season was 1980, when he was a major driving force behind a Richmond surge to the premiership that culminated in a 23.21 (159) to 9.24 ( 8) grand final annihilation of Collingwood. That same year saw Jess make the All Australian side after 3 vibrantly effective performances for the ‘Big V’. Powerful overhead, and a prodigious kick, Jess, who was loathed as much by opposition fans as he was loved by Richmond’s, was a major draw-card during a period when VFL football was declining in popularity. His loyalty to the Tigers was amply demonstrated late in his career when he agreed to accept reduced match payments in order to help the cash-strapped club.

How far were the generals responsible for the deaths of soldiers in WWI?

In a word, completely. There is always a commander-in-chief whose name is signed to each order as to who fights where, when, and how. The stupidity of the general staff corps in WW I is almost beyond comprehension, as one German officer is reported to have said about British troops, “they fight like lions, but are led by donkeys.”

The generals didn’t learn much very fast, and only after a huge waste of life. There are exceptions. On the British side, their were some Australian and Canadian generals who distinguished themselves and won exceptionally difficult battles by doing what seems obvious: For example, they planned the battle in minute detail, including repeated practices; they avoided mass attacks against machine guns and strongly built positions; they knew the ground, they studied the terrain to map out lines of attack, they coordinated arty and attacks, and they did not repeat the same failed attack plans. Plus, colonial officers where closer to their men, knew their strengths and weaknesses, and were respected by their men, (not just obeyed).

An old movie, Paths of Glory, (starring Kirk Douglas) is an excellent, moving account of what bad generals there were, although French officers are used as examples.

But there is another factor: the worst battle was Verdun, and it was designed and fought as a “battle of attrition.” This kind of battle has one purpose, inflict the maximum amount of death in order to discourage, weaken, and break the opposing army. The Germans hoped it would end the French army; it almost ended the German as well.

What sort of look is appropriate so that you don’t outshine the bride as a bridesmaid?

One thing you could do is to ask the bride if she has a particular way she wants the bridesmaids to do their hair and make-up. The trend is becoming more popular for all the bridesmaids to go to the same stylist/salon and have their make-up and up-dos done together so they will be coordinated.

If she doesn’t have a preference, and this group “makeover” isn’t planned, could you compare notes with the other bridesmaids and come up with a consensus that way?
The up-do sounds like a good idea, even if you can’t talk the other brides into it (or if they have short hair and it wouldn’t work for them). I would play down the eyeliner a bit, perhaps a softer shade that coordinates with the color of the bridesmaids’ gowns.
The way you carry yourself may also make a difference. Walk demurely but confidently–not the supermodel runway strut. Try to make your movements to a minimum and as graceful as possible–if you do end up wearing your hair down, for heaven’s sakes don’t keep flipping it or touching it. Keep your eyes focused on the bride and not at the audience and that will draw their eyes back in that direction. A slight Mona Lisa smile or a pleasant serious expression should be your goal throughout the ceremony, no dramatic expressions or silly grins.

Most brides won’t choose a bridesmaid they think will “outshine” them. Your friend must have plenty of self-confidence or she probably wouldn’t have chosen you. I’m sure you will do fine, and I’m sure the bride will be the center of attention.

Good question ! What you are primarily checking is HYOSUNG. They make a good scooter. I bought one for my daughter. The one I bought is actually distributed by UM, which was United Motors but now is just UM. Hyosung sells the exact scooter with different graphics and model designation. They make a 250cc cruiser and sport bike, and a 650cc cruiser and sportbike. All the motorcycles are V twins. The Koreans also make Kymco..I THINK. I’m pretty sure I read that in one of my industry periodicals. Back in 1986 when Hyundai first sold in America everyone was sure that the Koreans would fail. With improvements each year Hyundai is now a very good car and is selling big numbers. Kia is doing well now that Hyundai bought them. And Suzuki makes some cars in Korea. I expect that the Koreans will do well in time in America. The quality that I see in their products is really good. They have a better warranty than most Japanese makers. I think they should concentrate on the entry level as did Yamaha and Honda when they were establishing themselves. Until the younger generation of bikers becomes repeat customers of Hyosung they will have trouble gaining acceptance. If you bought one you.d be fine until you want to trade in or sell. The Big four dealers are snubbing Hyosung and criticizing them just as the british bike dealers did to them; just as the Harley dealers still do. Until a foothold is gained by Korean bikes I’d avoid the bigger models but I’d surely consider a 250 or smaller. The quality is much better than anything Chinese. Actually, the 650 cruiser is drop dead gorgeous, similar to the V rod. Oddly, UM, in Miami sells nearly the entire Hyosung line up as UM items, and the warranty is better than that of Hyosung. There is trouble brewing with some Hyosung dealers who oppose the UM competition with the same products.

I do. When I was 12 I met this 20 yr old guy and the only explanation I had of how saying hello to him made me feel was intimidated. (he was just a guy, friends of the older brothers and sisters of my friends)

20 yrs after meeting him as an acquaintance and not seeing him for 10 yrs, I went to a reunion weekend and I heard my Dad say, “Hey Pete”, I looked up, saw Peter, lost my breath with the same feeling I had as a little girl and the difference was I knew at that moment he was the man I was supposed to be with. I avoided him like the plague for 3 days, it didn’t work. We are very happy with a 3 yr old.

There was never anything between us until I was 32 and he was 40. I loved him my whole life and never new it. And it was by chance that he was even there for that weekend. I only ran into him because he was running late. He was taking a walk, gonna get in his car and go home. He saw me and stayed with his mother another 4 days.

It does happen!

I have some questions about R&B?

Is this for school? 1. Don’t know too many technical terms… R&B = Rhythm and Blues. It came from Jump Blues and early Jazz. Less emphasis on improvisation and more focus on the actual song. It is pretty much blues with a backing band. Mostly based on the 12-bar blues… 2. R&B reflected society of the 1940s […]

1. Don’t know too many technical terms… R&B = Rhythm and Blues. It came from Jump Blues and early Jazz. Less emphasis on improvisation and more focus on the actual song. It is pretty much blues with a backing band. Mostly based on the 12-bar blues…
2. R&B reflected society of the 1940s and 1950s… It eventually turned into Funk and Soul in the 1960s. It influenced society greatly as it turned into Rock and Roll when it was fused with Country in the 1950s…
3. It influenced Rock and Roll.
4. Rural blues to Jump blues to R&B… Major performers: Ray Charles, James Brown, The Coasters, Sam Cooke, Fats Domino, T Bone Walker, Drifters, Little Richard, Big Joe Turner…
5. R&B that exists today isn’t really R&B. It’s just a catch term for Hip Hop/Soul influenced music that has sung vocals instead of raps. It really doesn’t have a significant cultural influence anymore and it will be dead in 50 years just as it is now (regarding its true form/cultural significance).

It depends a little on the bird. The only bird that is known to use feel to find worms is the woodcock. This is a plump little bird with a long beak and eyes on the side but a little closer to the back of its head than the front (to see predators when its beak is buried in the ground). It plunges its long beak into the ground and rotten leaves of the forest floor and searches for things to eat with its beak by touch.

Robins however do it differently. It is NOT vibrations!

Watch them and you will see them cock their head sideways just before they plunge in their beak. They are watching for movement! If they see a worm (yes worms sometimes come to the surface at night and do not always make it back underground by morning) or movement in the soil indicating a worm underneath then they plunge in their beak.

What are your thoughts on tipping?

I always tip no matter what, unless the service was so terrible and the food so disqusting that I couldn’t eat it. I agree with you on tipping according to service… but I never leave less than a 5 dollar tip, waiters, waitresses, hostesses, and busers work really hard and they live off of their tip money… average wage for a waitress is $2.63 an hour… yet they bust their a s s to serve people all day long, I think that they deserve a decent tip.

You were right in leaving a fifty for a three hundred dollar bill, and I’m not suprised that you and that guy ended up breaking up, you have stronger values than he does and it can show up in little things like tipping.

By the way, I also strongly believe in tipping pizza delivery people… they go out in the cold, put miles on their car and deliver to your home so that you are able to take care of the things that you need to without leaving… For the convenience alone, I think they deserve at least 3 bucks, if not more.

As for the 100 pesos bill, it is interesting, there is in fact a very small poem printed on it, my understanding is that this poem was written by Nezahualcoyotl , you can take a look at it in this page:

http://mexico.group.stumbleupon.com/forum/46080/

And more poems from Nezahualcoyotl can be found:
http://www.los-poetas.com/netz1.htm

Finally you can learn more about Nezahualcoyotl in wikipedia:
http://www.banxico.org.mx/billetesymonedas/didactico/billetes_FabCaractHis/hst_billete_mexicano.html#bm

So as I mentioned before the mexican peso has changed a lot and the symbols you can find on it are related to the mexican history, you can find refernces to former presidents, emblematic mexican cities and to people that are important to us (mexicans)
